I was always thin growing up.
I assumed that because I was "skinny" that meant that I was healthy. I ate whatever I wanted without thinking about the consequences, because I was fortunate to never gain any weight. In my late teens I started experiencing debilitating migraines.
I got pregnant in 2008 and throughout my pregnancy and after delivery, they became more severe and happened more frequently.
I saw a neurologist who recommended that I start taking medication that could potentially kill a fetus if I ever got pregnant again. That wasn't a risk I was willing to take. Not only did my migraines grow worse with each passing year, but my body changed. I gained 40 lbs during my pregnancy and was lucky that I lost 20 of them without any effort.
August of 2012, I decided that I had enough of feeling down on myself and being sick so I took control of my body. I started working out 6 days a week doing P90X and within 90 days, I had completely transformed my body.
I've been migraine-free for over a year and I'm in the best shape of my life! I've taken a huge interest in fitness, health, nutrition, and trying to help others better themselves and their lives. I know that if I can do it, anyone can!
