When I was a kid, I wasn't fat, I was strong.
Then we moved out into the middle of nowhere and I fell in love with reading, not running, and gained weight in fits and starts all through middle and high school.
Now I'm 20 years old and have been exercising for an hour four times a week for a year and a half. And you know what? I haven't dropped a single pound.
It's looking like my body, the way it is now, is what it will be like for a long time, so I'm trying to learn to like it the way it is.
I have some really bad days when I just want to hide but every once in a while I can look in the mirror without zeroing in on everything I think isn't right. Small victories will win the war.
